Welcome to West Somerset Company of Archers. We are a friendly club based on Exmoor near Minehead.
Whether you’re new to archery, an archer new to the area, or a former archer who wants to return, we’d be glad to hear from you.
We are affiliated to Archery GB, the Somerset County Archery Association, and the Grand Western Archery Society.
We promote all styles of target archery with Recurve, Compound, Longbow and Barebow archers all welcome at the Club.
Beginners courses are run throughout the year and enquiries from anyone interested in archery are always welcome. Club equipment is available for novice members to use until they develop sufficient technique to warrant the purchase of their own equipment.

Learn Archery in 2026 With West Somerset Company of Archers!
Our courses take place in Wootten Courtenay in Exmoor National Park. The course will provide you with an introduction to the basic skills of archery.
All equipment is provided by the club, and the format is flexible to suit you. But the course content is delivered in accordance with Archery GB requirements and guidelines.
Students who wish to continue shooting after successful completion of the course, should then be able to meet the requirements to join any Archery GB affiliated club (including ours!).
The cost is £30 for adults and £15 for juniors.
